Terms of Service

Last updated September 4, 2026

These terms govern your use of the hosted Mault service operated by Mault LLC ("Mault", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

The service

Mault helps you identify, sort, and track physical trading cards using a camera-equipped sorter and companion software.

The sorter hardware is a DIY build assembled from off-the-shelf and 3D-printed parts, following our published build guide. It's provided as-is. We're not liable for damage arising from building or operating your own hardware.

You can also self-host the software entirely on your own infrastructure. These terms apply to the hosted service at our domain; a self-hosted instance is your own responsibility.

Accounts

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials secure.

Organizations may have multiple members with different roles; the organization owner is responsible for managing membership and access.

Subscriptions & billing

Mault offers a free plan with usage limits, and a paid Business plan billed monthly through Stripe.

You can cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep Business features until then.

We don't provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods or unused time.

We'll give you reasonable notice before any price change takes effect for your subscription.

Acceptable use

Don't use the service to violate the law, abuse or overload our infrastructure, or attempt to circumvent usage limits or access other organizations' data.

Don't resell or rehost the hosted service as your own competing offering; self-hosting your own instance for your own use is welcome.

Third-party card data

Card names, images, and other metadata shown in the app are sourced from third-party trading card game databases and publishers. Mault doesn't claim ownership of that content, and all related trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Open source

Mault's software is open source. You can review the code, self-host it, or contribute to it. See our GitHub repository for the license and details.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mault LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or your own hardware build.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the hosted service for accounts that violate these terms. You can stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do, and continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept them.
